Seven Random Facts

Seven
Seven by melanie_hughes, on Flickr

In continuation of my post on Blog Awards, here are seven random facts about me.

1. My given name is actually Jenny. Not Jennifer or Genevieve. Just Jenny.
2. I live in Southern California and yet I don't wear shorts. I own one pair. I've worn them once in the last two years.
3. I am terrified of fish. Completely terrified. Like I have nightmares and wake up in a panic because I think there are fish in my sheets. I can't take my eyes off a fish tank if it's in the same room as me.
4. I've visited Mexico, Egypt, Germany, Spain, France and England, but I've never been to Canada.
5. I didn't learn to drive until I was 19.
6. I now prefer a stick shift to an automatic, even in LA traffic.
7. I do all my best writing late at night, but I come up with my best ideas in the shower or while driving.

  2. LOL on the Genevieve. Did someone seriously ask you if Jenny is short for that?! (But then again, I guess you wouldn't have added that if that didn't happen.)

Your phobia of fish reminds me of my phobia of bugs. Eeeek.

I'm hoping to move to Southern California in the next year or so. LA is waaay better than Texas. And I can see how you only own one pair of shorts. Weather there is strangely cooler than I'd thought it would be.

  3. Me too! I always write better at night, I think it's because I'm tired and not overthinking everything so much, but I get great ideas in the shower and especially when I'm driving. Well, speeding is probably more accurate.

And don't feel bad, I was almost 19 when I took my drivers test. I still can't figure out a stick shift though...

  4. @Lyla - I'm always surprised by the names people come up with! Craziness. Aren't phobias the weirdest? I know it's irrational, but I can't help it! I hope you make it to SoCal! I love it here, but yes, the weather is much colder than most people expect. And the ocean is frigid! I almost never go in because it's just too cold!

@Megan - Yay! I'm the only late bloomer when it comes to driving! Isn't it funny that we get such great ideas driving now? And why can't ideas come when we can actually jot them down safely? Stick shifts are funny, but I had to learn in college. The only car I could afford was a stick. I drove it home and stalled it so often that I got pulled over. The police officer ended up escorting me home. After a few weeks like that, it clicked. Now I love it!
